Summer Game Fest 2026: June's showcase schedule

The Summer Game Fest schedule keeps growing, adding even more shows to a packed week
Spring has sprung and summer is here to fill your Steam wishlist with hundreds of games. Alongside Geoff Keighley's big-name showcase, indie faces across a myriad of identities and regions have taken the rest of the weekend by storm, creating greater representation for gamers of all backgrounds and abilities, and greater opportunity for everyone to thrive and find their next favorite game.
2026 sees the Summer Game Fest weekend grow even more ambitious in scale, with newcomers the Fellow Traveller Story Rich Showcase and the Gayming Pride Parade, two shows of particular interest to returning VGG x SGF livestream hosts Nate, Fern, and Fish. As we spend the week caffeinating and stress testing our capacity to work without sleep, prepare for live reaction streams and our Best of Show awards — last year's winners were Colorbound, Heartspell: Horizon Academy, and Whisper Mountain Outbreak — recap videos, mini-previews of games with demos out, and so much more.
So what's happening at Summer Game Fest 2026 and how is VGG covering it?
As is tradition around here, VGG Editor-in-Chief Nate, Deputy Editor Julie, and frequent VGG guest streamer FishpasteGG will host a fun watch-along with live reactions and immediate quickfire analysis for summer gaming showcases that will be streaming from June 2–8.
As always, our focus is with the indies, which typically receive much-needed exposure to wider audiences through their participation in these showcases.
The addition of two new shows this year will help expand the types of games and game dev communities garnering support and attention from the millions around the world who keep their eyes glued to Summer Game Fest. Participating for the first time this year are:
Fellow Traveller Story Rich Showcase (June 6, 10 a.m.).
Gayming Pride Parade (June 6, 12 p.m.)
Keighley's returning Summer Game Fest has big shoes to fill as, nowadays, it's the likes of small-but-mighty Wholesome Direct, Day of the Devs, and the PC Gaming Show that truly delight us and make us aware of some genuinely innovative new releases.
Summer Game Fest and its surrounding programming — official and unofficial — provides a glimpse into the next few years of exciting creativity in the games industry, and that's always what is most electrifying about this time of year.
Below, you'll find a full schedule of the events and showcases we'll be livestreaming. If you want to keep up with us any time we go live, follow us on Twitch and you'll be notified of it all.
One thing to note, same as our practice last year: VGG will not livestream the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 as Microsoft and Xbox are current priority targets of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement due to the company's Azure cloud and artificial intelligence services being central to Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestinians, as covered in investigations by The Guardian, +972 Magazine, and The Associated Press. While we will be looking for ways to thoughtfully discuss and uplift the games featured by the event and support the livelihood of these game developers in other ways, we do not endorse buying new products from Microsoft or its storefronts while the boycott is ongoing, and therefore won't be helping to build hype around its upcoming games as they're announced.

SGF is much more than streams — the bags under our eyes by the end of the week are proof enough. Alongside this week of presentations, we'll publish written show recaps. And, as the momentum continues with Steam Next Fest June 2026 kicking off a week later, with free game demos and developer interviews going live on Steam from June 15–22 at 10 a.m. Pacific, expect a handful of our mini-previews to land.
June will be a wall-to-wall Summer Game Fest for VGG. Stick with us through the week, because we love sharing in the live moments of new announcements with our community, and this time of year is one of our favorites as we look ahead at the future of video games.
